Today we're going to see pandas at the Chengdu Giant Panda Reserve. We get up pretty early and get there before they open.

Although we have to wait a while it is worth it, as bears are more active first thing in the morning. The reserve is a huge complex where you can enjoy these incredible animals.

You have the opportunity to see a multitude of specimens, some only others in groups and even if you are lucky enough to enter the birth area and see them in the incubator, it is amazing how big they are born and then how big they get. You can also see red pandas, smaller in size.

We leave around 12 and don't head for the train station, our next destination Leshan. We take a very modern and comfortable train, in less than an hour and a half we arrive at our destination.

Leshan is a smaller city than Chengdu but also very modern and clean. We leave our backpacks at the hotel, Le Cheng hotel, and take a bus to the centre. We eat fried chicken in batter and skewers.

We go to see the great Buddha (Dafo), The Giant Buddha of Leshan is considered the biggest Buddhist statue that exists in our planet with no less than 71 meters high, being part of the UNESCO World Heritage since 1996 next to Mount Emei (the holiest place in Sichuan). Carved into the rock, it is located at the confluence of several rivers. Only the ears are 7 meters high.
