Myanmar

Myanmar is a fascinating country, its ethnic and cultural diversity is impressive. More than a hundred ethnic groups live together among thousands of Buddhas, monasteries and golden stupas. The traditional life and the generosity and hospitality of its people intoxicate you. Although it is a country that is becoming more and more advanced, it has not lost its essence, the one that remains in your memory.

Day 1: Burgos - Madrid - Hong Kong

We're at Hong Kong airport, our flight is delayed. It should leave at 00.05 but it's 3 a.m. when we get on the plane.

The flight to Madrid is smooth. We have a coffee at the airport. We pick up the car in the parking lot and go home.

We have breakfast at the hostel listening to the songs of the children at school, it is a military march according to the owner.

We take a taxi and go to Ngahtatgyi Paya, free of charge. A huge Buddha welcomes us, sitting down, framed in carved wood. It's very impressive.

We had breakfast at the Hotel Popular, which was very good, as they take care of us.

A small truck picks us up and takes us to the bus stop, which is also run by the hotel.

Yesterday we met a Spanish girl who is living in Australia and will be a month in Myanmar, we coincide with her again doing the check out. She agrees with us that in the hotel they are not as nice as in other areas.

We have breakfast at the hostel, it's buffet but we don't like it very much. Today we changed our room to a triple room, it's much cleaner and very spacious.

After breakfast at the hostel, we rent some motorcycles, we want to climb the Zwegabin mountain.

It is the highest limestone mountain in the area, about eleven kilometers from Hpa An. It is easy to get there, just take the road next to the river about ten kilometers until you take the detour, it stands out among the countryside.

We arrived at Hpa An at 6 in the morning. The journey took about 8 hours, and we stopped at the door of the Little Hpa An Boutique Hostel. We can't enter the room because it's busy and we're allowed to rest in the breakfast room, we curse until eight o'clock when people arrive for breakfast. The hostel is nice, our bathroom gets very wet. The breakfast is buffet. There are not many options for accommodation and our hostel is quite full.

We get up without hurry, we look for a place to have breakfast but there are not many options, finally we stop in an old tea shop, the very interesting place, the tea with too much milk.
