We get up at 5:30 and take the van to Xiancheng at 6. The driver tries to sneak us into a countryman who was very big (almost two meters tall) and almost couldn't fit in the van, we told him no.

The landscape is again indescribable, steep mountains, impressive rivers, ravines, ports ... that if the whole road is unpaved.

Once in Xiancheng we changed van in direction Zhongdian known as Shangri La.

We had a small mishap and the driver dropped the water bottle under the pedals and when trying to catch it we hit the fence of the road (already paved), nothing happened really just a blow of the plate, the bad feeling threw the bottle out of the car. It's a pity that they don't realize that they can't fill the gutters with plastic, with the rain they go down to the rivers and from there to the sea. With how spectacular this area is...

We arrived at Shangri La and looked for lodging, after seeing a couple of them we decided on the Emma Inn. It is a hostel of a Tibetan family with a huge courtyard.

Zhongdian known as Shangri La due to the novel by James Hilton Lost Horizons, suffered a fire that destroyed more than two hundred historic buildings, this happened in 2014, and is currently reconstructed respecting the style of traditional buildings.

There are still old houses, although its streets have been converted into a large open-air shopping centre and boutique hotels. The Chinese population is not welcome in the Tibetan area due to problems with the Chinese government so this city is a tourist attraction to know the Tibetan culture, it is impressive the amount of local tourism.
