China day 13: Beijing.

Today we visited the Beijing Summer Palace, which was the summer residence of the emperors. There's a huge lake and several temples to visit. It's immense.

We eat at a KFC and men with guns come in to escort an employee out of the safe, we're amazed.

We visit the financial area to see the skyline, before we make a small stop at the Silk Market, a mall where we buy imitations, hour and a half of hard bargaining rewards us with wind breakers and raincoats of fairly good quality.

At the end of the afternoon we go to Wangfujing market, exotic food, skewers of cockroach, seahorse, snake. We try the snake skin with a slight taste of chicken.

When we return to the hostel, our metro station is closed, we go out to the surface and we see police everywhere, our street is cut off. We explain to the policeman that we are staying at the Quian Men hostel and he lets us in.

In the accommodation they explain us that they are going to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the People's Republic of China and they are doing rehearsals. Suddenly a rain of fireworks leaves us stunned, impressive for just a rehearsal.
