Myanmar day 13: Bagan.

Submitted by maria on Thu, 19/09/2019 - 19:30

We have breakfast again on the rooftop, we rent the motorcycles again in the hotel but they don't give us the same ones as yesterday, as soon as one of them goes out it lowers a line of battery, we return to the hotel and we ask them for another one. The problem with the electric motorcycles is that as they consume little and yesterday we returned them without lowering any line, we believe that they do not recharge.

Today we visited New Bagan and the southern plains. First stop Iza Gawna Pagoda and Winido Temple more modest but interesting.

We stop to have a beer and it happens that we are in Minnanthu village, a woman offers to show us. They have antique looms. We take a walk and visit several houses, they still use the animals to work the land and they have the plows and the wooden carts.

They use some animals called Ka, they look like cows but they are not. A woman with a basket on her head comes up, which is nice. We visit two more houses, in one of them we see again the woman with the basket on her head smoking a huge cigar.

In another house a woman who says she is single shows us her rooms, poor woman with two teeth left. All the buildings and the fences are made of wood and straw, there is nothing paved.

We leave the village and go up to Lookout platform, it's a lookout point on a hill from where you can see the sunset or sunrise like yesterday. We visit the lake from which the village is supplied with water. We give a tip to the woman who has been very kind.
