China and Hong Kong day 3: Chengdu.

It's hard to sleep and when the alarm clock goes off it's hard to get up.

Back to the airport easy, we soon find the confluence of O'Brian and Gloucester. Bus A11.

Asian breakfast at an airport franchise. Spaghetti and beef soup with a glass of soya milk, very good, and macaroni with pork fillets and tea with milk. We didn't like the milk.

We fly to Chengdu
, our friends are waiting for us at the Airport Shuangliu. We take a bus to the hostel, which is great. Chengdu looks great. Although it has 14 million inhabitants, it's a very modern and clean city. Almost all the motorcycles are electric.

We leave the things and go to visit the center. First we go to the Qinyang Gong Palace or Green Ram Temple, is a Taoist complex of several buildings with many green areas and a tea house full of local people.

Later we go to the famous Jinli Lu, near the Wuhou Temple. A network of streets with traditional Chinese style buildings, ponds, bridges and squares, is almost like a shopping mall, with restaurants, shops and street stalls, outdoors.

Here we tried octopus skewers among other delicacies well seasoned with Sichuan pepper and some dessert.

After lunch we visited Tianfu Square with a statue of Mao Zedong surrounded by tall buildings of modern construction, being the busiest area in the Shopping District.

We also went to the Chengdu People's Park.

In the evening we have the opportunity to enjoy several groups of local people dancing to traditional music. This park also has a bonsai and orchid garden, an artificial lake with boats and a Tea House.

On the way back to the hostel we stop for dinner at one of the best restaurants of the whole trip located very close to our accommodation.
