India day 9: Thiruvananthapuran, Delhi, Agra.

It's 1 am and our taxi arrives to go to the International Airport of Trivandrum. We arrive and it's closed, so wherever you go do as you please, we lie down on the pavement to take a nap and wait for them to open. We make a 20-minute stopover in Bangalore.

We arrive in Delhi, we are very tired, it is very hot and the walk from the metro to the train station takes forever.

Once there we try to get the train tickets to Agra without success. The train station is huge, I am not sure about the number of platforms but the amount of people is shocking. They make us dizzy, they send us to change lines, trying not to let anyone in but it's impossible.

Finally a fellow countryman tries to "help" us, he is a commissioner and we are clear that he is going to cheat us but he gets us a car for the four of us for 30 euros which leaves us at the gates of the Tah Majal in Agra. We are so tired and it is so hot that we succumb to the tempting offer. 4 hours later we are in Agra.

Along the way we see hundreds of people living on the road, some with food stalls, others just sitting around, watching life go by. The southern regions of Goa and Kerala are quite rich and the contrast with the north is immense. The dryness of the terrain, the number of people on the streets, the dust, the pollution.

We arrived in Agra, we stayed at the Sheela Hotel, it is right next to the Tah Majal, it has a wonderful garden although it is terribly hot.

We take a walk until dinner time, cows everywhere, women with dozens of bricks on their heads working on a construction site nearby... In India women do the hardest work, it is difficult to see them in the shops attending.

Agra is a bustling city, located on the banks of the Yamuna River, it was the capital of the Mughal Empire, where Sha Jahan ordered the construction of the most impressive mausoleum building in the world in honor of his late wife. Tomorrow will be an exciting day.

We have dinner on the terrace of the Hotel Sani, it takes about an hour to serve us, they go to buy it at the market and prepare it on the spot. It's all very good.

Back to the hostel, we go for a walk, Agra is still chaotic when the night falls, there is hardly any light and dodging the cows and the people become more difficult. They sell a kind of churros and fried biscuits in a stall, others with dozens of spices, the colours are very intense; others with fabrics, others with tea... it seems that these people never close.
