Submitted by maria on Wed, 10/06/2015 - 20:12

We get up at 5.30 for breakfast before we leave. At 6.30 we are picked up by a car and taken to Yogya train station. We have a long journey ahead of us. The train is very basic, sky seats and quite dirty. The bathroom without words. The landscape is wonderful, very green, rice fields, palm trees...

Train to Probolingo

Train from Yogya to Probolingo

We arrive at Probolingo and a van awaits us there. We stop at an agency to catch more people and they offer us an excursion in Ijen to see what they call "blue lava". We take it and pay the ferry tickets, together with the tickets to the Bromo and Ijen Park.

One and a half hours later we arrive at Cemoro Lawang. In the previous city there was a big popular party, people dancing and music. The landscape is beautiful, very mountainous. Our accommodation is very basic (like a mountain hut... so much bargaining... jeje).

It's cold, we are at a good altitude and you can tell. The room is cold although they give you blankets you have to bring warm clothes. We have dinner at a nearby restaurant. We take a little walk and go to sleep, tomorrow at 2.30 the alarm clock rings.
