We're leaving in a van with the same agency as the elephants. The van ends its journey in Nakasang. The trip is good, the roads are quite good. Everything is very flat.

We arrive at Ban Nakasang and buy tickets for Champasak for the 23rd and the tickets for the boat to Don Det, one of the islands in the area known as Si Phan Don or 4,000 islands.

On the boat we meet Gerard, a Catalan who has been in Laos for a month and a half. He tells us that he witnessed an accident in which a child died, by the time the ambulance arrived nothing could be done, he still tells us that in the ambulance they had practically nothing to help him apart from being very dirty.

We also agreed with a man from Leon. The boat is not made of wood, it is not very big and the current is strong, it has a small engine. The Mekong is huge in the rainy season.

We arrive at Don Det, at the Ban Na Hin pier and we look for accommodation, there are no motor vehicles on the islands.

Don Det is a smaller island than Don Khong, much more touristy. The locals live from agriculture, mainly from rice. They are small paradises in the middle of the Mekong.

Suddenly we find ourselves facing the people of Avila who come from another dock. They just arrived and we decided to look for accommodation together. We see some without bath for three euros on the river but we are not convinced. A little further on we find some bungalows with bathroom but without air conditioning for ten euros, Don Det Bungalows, we decide tongal stay. They have a porch with a hammock. We go to eat. He tells us about our friends who had been standing on the road for 27 hours due to a landslide.
